Don’t hit the nail on the head

I have this fuzzy idea for a picture book about a nail in a wall. It’s been in my brain for years, but I can’t figure out what is the story?

The versions I wrote throughout the years featured the nail as an optimistic character. However, when I sketched this idea, the nail turned quite grumpy!

Unfortunately, I still have no story.
